Doodles and The Avengers

I’ve never been a huge fan of American comics characters when I was a kid since I grew up watching Anime shows and books. But not until Hollywood started to bring characters like Green Lantern, Ironman, Spider-man, X-Men and Captain America into life via theaters, at an instant I became a fan.

Yesterday, me and my friends Wella, Pia and Erson just watched The Avengers - another “superhero” movie which most say are only for kids. Well, we’re kids at heart, really. It is the popular Marvel masterpiece which was loved in comic books and TV shows. I admit I’m not a fan of the group and not even well oriented about the individual stories of some characters.

Since The Avengers premiere last April 25 here in the Philippines, everyone was talking about it. This gave me and my friends the extra excitement to watch it on the big screen. We even planned to wear The Avengers inspired t-shirts during the movie and exerted some extra effort to find a unique one in stores. Wella and Pia were lucky to buy nice shirts The Hulk and Ironman designs. I was not satisfied with the Captain America inspired shirts in most stores so I decided to create it myself. I bought a plain white shirt and a black fabric pen. And with a little dose of doodling creativity, here’s my doodled  Capt. America-inspired shirt:

I did this for two long nights but it’s fun and satisfying.

The Captain America sheild/logo was the highlight of the shirt design.

The Avengers via deadpoool.tumblr.comMy verdict about the movie? Well, all was unexpected. I know that the casting was in full force with some great names like Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Ironman) and Scarlet Johansson (Black Widow) but I never expected that the movie would be that GREAT! Yes, we know the individual capabilities of the characters but their great combination were just incredible.

The movie highlights were the humor between the scenes credited to Ironman and The Hulk, stunning visual effects, intense action scenes and totally interesting plot. Still can’t forget that scene where Hulk is smashing Loki’s body on the floor. XD

The Avengers - Captain America

The Avengers is still showing in theaters nationwide. It stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Rufallo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlet Johansson and Tom Hiddleston. Directed by Josh Wedon.
